Strategy and Governance
After being the only person in the history of the Harvard Business School to be admitted directly from his junior year of college, Kevin Coyne graduated with Distinction in 1978, and was awarded his undergraduate degree from Rice University three weeks later. He joined McKinsey and Company directly from HBS.
While at McKinsey, Kevin served as personal counsellor to over 20 CEOs and worked directly with numerous Boards of Directors of both corporate and non-profit institutions.
Since retiring from McKinsey in 2006, he has consulted with a wide variety of companies, universities, and non-profits on issues of Board governance, strategy, the changing environment for higher education, and other subjects. In 2007, he taught at the Harvard Business School, and has been a Senior Teaching Professor at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School since 2008.
